The Hope Giver Initiative Closes 2024 Cycle with Global Celebration of Resilience and Unity

The Hope Giver Initiative, a global humanitarian movement inspired by the remarkable journey of Captain Anwar El-Kamouny, has concluded its 2024 cycle with a resounding celebration of unity, hope, and human determination. Founded by El-Kamouny, an Egyptian tennis player who overcame severe health challenges, including a battle with bone marrow failure, the campaign has grown into a worldwide symbol of resilience. El-Kamouny’s personal triumph, marked by his return to international tennis rankings, became the cornerstone of an initiative that seeks to inspire millions who face their own battles with health and psychological challenges. The Hope Giver campaign stands on five pillars: support for cancer patients, people with disabilities, orphans, and the promotion of sustainable development, making it one of the most impactful movements of its kind.

The grand closing ceremony in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital was a fitting culmination of this year's activities, bringing together over 1,500 people from across the globe. In attendance were some of the world’s most notable figures, highlighting the campaign’s expanding global reach. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, as well as international contributors including:

Corinne Lepage, former French Minister of Environment.
Christophe Giovannetti, President of the UN Federation.
Gila Clara Kessous, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Peace.
Prince Charles-Henri de Lobkowicz, France.
Delia Grace Noble, UNICEF Ambassador.
Ana Sanchez, renowned international artist.
Samantha, a creative artist.
Sean Swarner, an adventurer and the first cancer survivor to climb the Seven Summits.
Federico Martello, an Italian composer and singer.
Cougo Claude, an international musician.
Benjamin Jacob, an internationally renowned artist.
Artists, adventurers, and cultural figures, including these esteemed individuals, contributed to the vibrant and inspiring atmosphere of the event.

A central highlight of the evening was a performance by iconic Egyptian artist Safaa Abou El-Saoud, who also serves as the President of Art and Culture for the Hope Giver Campaign. Her artistic expression beautifully underscored the campaign’s values of hope and solidarity. In a moment of profound symbolism, Captain El-Kamouny, alongside UNESCO Ambassador Kessous, presented a golden ball signed by world leaders to Dr. Sobhy, reaffirming the global commitment to preserving the values of human unity and hope that the campaign so fervently champions.

Dr. Manal El-Absi, the President for International Affairs of the Hope Giver Campaign, was recognized for her pivotal role in driving the initiative’s global efforts. Her leadership has been instrumental in building bridges between nations and fostering a culture of inclusivity.

Significant successes this year were supported by important strategic partnerships. Notable among these was the collaboration with Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, which received the Hope Torch in Sharjah on January 16th, and the agreement for joint activities between Egypt and Switzerland through a partnership with the Swiss "No Difference" Foundation. The campaign also established a distinctive partnership with the Monte Carlo Foundation, including cultural and humanitarian event exchanges. Special thanks were extended to the Vatican for its substantial support in Egypt, providing 1.5 million medical devices for fighting malaria and COVID-19, with the first batch of 300 devices delivered to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The ceremony also served as an occasion to honor those whose support has been instrumental in the campaign's success. Businessman Ayman Abbas was awarded the Hope Giver Award for his unwavering dedication to the cause, and EgyptAir, the campaign’s official airline, was recognized for its generosity in supporting humanitarian initiatives.

The Hope Giver Campaign is strongly supported by Baheya Hospital, the largest charity hospital dedicated to breast cancer treatment for women, and El Nas Hospital, a leading charity hospital specializing in heart treatment for children. Additionally, Innovation University, led by Engineer Mohamed Fahmy, is driving initiatives to foster inclusivity and promote diversity in sports by integrating athletes with and without disabilities.

Captain Anwar El-Kamouny extended special thanks to Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, for his continuous support of humanitarian causes and effective contribution to the campaign's success.

The Hope Giver campaign is the largest of its kind globally, comprising over 250 annual events and reaching millions of people from various nationalities. The campaign seeks to expand its activities to new countries, reinforcing its position as a leading humanitarian movement supporting hope and social inclusion globally.

Through this extraordinary ceremony, the Hope Giver campaign reaffirmed its permanent commitment to supporting diverse communities and inspiring millions with stories of challenge and success, remaining a beacon of hope and human unity. Its mission to foster hope, support marginalized communities, and drive sustainable change remains as vital as ever. Captain Anwar El-Kamouny’s personal story of overcoming adversity is a testament to the power of resilience, and through this initiative, he has created a ripple effect of hope that resonates globally.
