Q introduces 007 to the new Aston Martin DB5, complete with an array of gadgets, including rotating license plates.
This legendary car has since appeared in eight James Bond films, helping the British car manufacturer gain international fame. Nearly six decades after the DB5’s debut, Aston Martin has ventured into the SUV market with a starting price of €188,000.
Why an SUV? Because the market has shifted from sleek sports cars to versatile, high-riding vehicles that combine luxury with family-friendly space.
In Monaco, whether you're heading to the Monte-Carlo Golf Club or taking the kids to Carrefour, the DBX’s adaptive triple volume air suspension, which can raise the vehicle by 45mm or lower it by 50mm, provides both convenience and elegance.
The DBX is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine coupled with a nine-speed automatic transmission. With 542 horsepower, it can reach a top speed of 291 km/h and accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The new all-wheel-drive system with electronically controlled center and rear differentials ensures precise torque distribution of 516 pounds, while the bespoke quick ratio steering system gives the DBX a responsive and lively feel.
This SUV is adept in various challenging off-road conditions. It offers six customizable driving modes to adapt the vehicle to different environments, ensuring confidence off-road. Four of these modes, including Sport and Sport+, are designed for on-road driving, while Terrain and Terrain+ handle off-road adventures. The rear differential assists in rear wading, ideal for reversing a trailer into water to launch a boat.
A standout feature is the 48-volt electronic anti-roll control (eARC) system, which replaces traditional anti-roll bars, delivering the smooth ride expected from a luxury SUV. The 14.4:1 steering ratio gives the DBX the agility of a sports car, worthy of making 007 proud.
